Rates and Insurance

Rates

Initial Intake: $185 per session
Individual Sessions:
* 45-50 minutes: $150
* 55-60 minutes: $165

Insurance

Guidepost is an in-network provider for BlueCross BlueShield PPO, UCHP/Aetna and U-SHIP (UChicago Student Health Insurance Plan). For those with other insurance plans, Guidepost is willing to investigate whether services can be covered as an out-of-network provider. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Payment

I will send you an email through Hushmail secure email with the invoice for services. You can pay with any of the methods below:

  1. Cash
  2. Checks (paper or online banking checks, made out to Guidepost Center).

  3. Zelle, an online payment platform for bank to bank transfers. This platform is used by several U.S. banks (Chase, Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo, Capital to name a few). However, not all banks have the Zelle option.

If you use one of these banks, you already have access to Zelle through your online banking platform (including on your bank’s phone app).

To use, simply log on to your bank website or app, go to the section of the site where you send and transfer money, and find the option to “transfer money using Zelle.” To pay Charles Berry at the Guidepost Center for the first time, search using the email address “berry@guidepostcenter.com”. Enter the amount owed and hit send.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
