At various time in one’s life, individuals may need different types of assistance in dealing with the “bumps” in life’s journey. Guidepost provides a range of services including:

  • individual counseling/psychotherapy
  • professional and personal coaching
  • consultation
  • mindfulness-based stress reduction classes

Guidepost uses mind, body, and spiritual models in developing an individual treatment course for each client. We assume that the body, mind and spirit are an interrelated system and need to be holistically addressed to bring a grounded and centered way of life. At Guidepost, we use an integrative model of psychotherapy, supplementing traditional models of talk therapy from the West (insight/relational models and evidence-based models) with time-honored traditions from the East (yoga, Buddhist psychology, mindfulness, and mind-body techniques) as appropriate. Guidepost services are guided by psychological theory and scientific research while remaining culturally sensitive, adaptable with regard to treatment models, and responsive to individual differences and needs. We seek to honor, recognize, and celebrate differences of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, and ability in informing the individual treatments we create with clients.

Charles Berry, the founder of Guidepost Center, believes that all people have an innate drive toward emotional health and the capacity to overcome obstacles. He works from a strength-based model, integrating principles of positive psychology. Each person is unique; therefore, work is tailored to meet the need of each client.
